20th NYP Astronomy Competition 2017

The NYP Astronomy Competition is the longestrunning astronomy competition in Singapore, and has brought students of science and astronomy together for nearly two decades.
The aim of the competition is to engage pre-tertiary students’ interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics). This year’s competition has two categories: Advanced and Poster. Both will be held in the morning. In the afternoon, students will have time to view posters from other schools. Entertaining and educational booths will also be set up in the exhibition area.

This year, Chiu Jianing (S4-08), Wong Aoshen (S4-08), and Irfan (S4-02) achieved a Special Mention Award.

SST also supported the NYP organisers in setting up a booth for Radio telescopes.
